Guardas la piedra cerca de ti (yo tengo la m\u00eda en la mesilla de noche) para recordar tu intenci\u00f3n.  Este a\u00f1o eleg\u00ed \"conectar\", y parece que me est\u00e1 guiando durante el primer mes del a\u00f1o.<\/p><p>Entonces, \u00bfqu\u00e9 tienen las conexiones que son tan importantes para m\u00ed?  Bueno, creo que todos estamos conectados y que las acciones que realiza una persona no s\u00f3lo afectan a quienes nos rodean, sino que se extienden mucho m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de nuestras conexiones inmediatas.  \u00bfCu\u00e1les son nuestras conexiones inmediatas?  Creo que son infinitas y empiezan con la familia, los amigos y los compa\u00f1eros de trabajo.  Cuando empec\u00e9 a pensar en todas mis conexiones, me di cuenta de que hay muchas m\u00e1s de las que inicialmente era consciente, y puede que a ti te ocurra lo mismo.  Por ejemplo, tus conexiones empresariales, como los que contratan con tu empresa para realizar un trabajo.  Despu\u00e9s, a tus empleados, proveedores, subcontratistas, banquero, contable, abogado y cualquier persona con la que hagas negocios.<\/p><p>Esas son tus conexiones empresariales, pero luego est\u00e1n tus conexiones personales y sociales, de amigos, familiares y relaciones sociales y muchas m\u00e1s.  Y muchas de estas conexiones pasan de los negocios a lo social y las amistades.  Con algunas de estas conexiones te esfuerzas por desarrollarlas, mientras que otras se desarrollan sin esfuerzo, y otras parecen quedarse en el mismo nivel, o incluso decaer.\u00a0<\/p><p>He decidido ser m\u00e1s consciente de estas muchas conexiones y tomar la decisi\u00f3n consciente de desarrollar aquellas a las que elijo moverme a un nivel m\u00e1s profundo.  Algunas requieren un poco m\u00e1s de esfuerzo, pero hay peque\u00f1as cosas que puedes hacer para mostrar a los que te rodean que les aprecias, y al hacerlo env\u00edas ondas de bien que ir\u00e1n a otros, y finalmente de vuelta a ti.  Aprovecha esas oportunidades para conectar con los que te rodean e influir positivamente en sus vidas.<\/p><p>Tanto para establecer nuevas conexiones como para reforzar las existentes hace falta valor, porque al hacer ese esfuerzo nos estamos exponiendo al s\u00edndrome de \"no les caigo bien\".  Se trata de una respuesta natural que nuestro ego utiliza para protegernos aparentemente.  Sin embargo, al no esforzarnos por crear nuevas conexiones o profundizar en las actuales, no vamos a disfrutar de los maravillosos beneficios que se obtienen cuando hacemos el esfuerzo.  Estos beneficios vienen en muchas formas, ya sea m\u00e1s negocios para nuestra empresa, m\u00e1s placer al disfrutar de la familia y los amigos, o conseguir el apoyo que necesitamos en tiempos dif\u00edciles.  Arriesgar es recibir, y en este caso los dividendos vuelven a ti de m\u00faltiples formas: \u00a1feliz conexi\u00f3n!<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- \/module text --> stone.\u00a0 You keep this stone close to you, (I keep mine on my nightstand) to remind you of your intention.\u00a0 This year I chose \u201cconnecting,\u201d and it does seem to be guiding me through the first month of the year.<\/p><p>So what is it about connections that is so important to me?\u00a0 Well, I believe we are all connected and what actions an individual takes affects not only those around us, but ripples out far beyond our immediate connections.\u00a0 What are our immediate connections?\u00a0 I believe they are endless and start with family, friends and co-workers.\u00a0 As I started to think about all of my connections, I realized there are many more than I was initially aware, and you may do the same.\u00a0 For example, your business connections like those that contract with your business to perform work.\u00a0 Then, it goes on to your employees, suppliers, sub-contractors, banker, accountant, attorney and anyone that you do business.<\/p><p>That\u2019s your business connections, but then there are your personal and social connections, from friends, family and social relationships and so many more.\u00a0 And many of these connections move from business to social and friendships.\u00a0 With some of these connections you make an effort to develop them, while others develop without effort, and yet others seem to stay at the same level, or even drop off.\u00a0<\/p><p>I have decided to become more aware of these many connections and make a conscious decision to develop those that I choose to move to either a deeper level.\u00a0 Some make take a bit more effort, yet there are little things you can do to show others around you that you appreciate them, and in so doing you send out ripples of good that will go out to others, and eventually back to you.\u00a0 Take advantage of those opportunities to connect with those around you, and positively affect their lives.<\/p><p>Both making new connections and strengthening existing ones takes courage because in making that effort we are exposing ourselves to the \u201cthey make not like me\u201d syndrome.\u00a0 This is a natural response that our egos use to seemingly protect us.\u00a0 However, by not making and effort to create new connections or deepen current ones, we\u2019re not going to enjoy the wonderful benefits that come when we make the effort.\u00a0 These benefits come in many forms, whether it be more business for our company, more pleasure from enjoying family and friends, or getting the support you need in challenging times.\u00a0 Risking is receiving, and in this case the dividends return to you in multiple ways \u2013 happy
