IEC has the workforce tools needed to recruit, train and retain your workers! This monthly resource is all about Workforce, and designed is specifically for the person in charge of workforce. You can look for this information source the 1st Wednesday of each month. We are delivering our Workforce Power Source Bulletin to all IEC member workforce contacts.

– Atlanta In-Person 1st Year September: Students will attend class 2 nights per week on Mondays & Wednesdays for most of 1st Semester. After Thanksgiving Break, students will attend class 1 night per week on Wednesdays from 5:00pm – 9:00pm.
Sept. 13th- 1st Year Online September: Students will attend class on Monday nights from 7:00pm – 9:30pm.
Sept. 27th- 1st Year Columbus: Students will attend class on Monday nights from 5:00pm – 9:00pm.
Sept 28th- 3rd Year Savannah: Students will attend class on Tuesday nights from 5:00pm – 9:00pm.
RECRUITMENT
As your partner, IEC helps build capacity and opportunity for you to find new and existing talent to meet your workforce needs! To that end we are hosting a candidate Open House and Hiring Fair each month.
The August Open House was a great time of connecting with a group of 14 candidates to introduce them to careers an electrician and getting trained in the IEC Apprenticeship program. We toured the facility as well as shared the career path for an electrician. We included a short video on a “day in the life of an electrician” to help the candidates understand that to have this great career it requires hard work and sometimes less than ideal weather conditions. Introduction of the Accumulated Credit Transfer (ACT) Program – We will be working with qualifying local high schools to offer their graduating Electrical Program Completers an opportunity to enter the IEC Apprenticeship Program.

How do we do this? Engagement with local schools. (Develop early interest in the field)

- Invitation to regional Workforce alliance groups. CEFGA & AGC brings teachers and contractors together

GA Electrical Exam Prep. –(Friday – Sunday) October 29th, 2021 – October 31st, 2021, 8:00am – 4:30pm- This course helps you get ready to take the Electrical Contractor License Exam based on the NEC 2020.
