The Georgia Industry Foundation for Training (GIFT) is proud to announce the successful conclusion of its annual Scholarship Signing Day, held on Thursday, July 30th. The event honored 16 high school graduates, awarding them a combined $25,000 in scholarships to launch their careers in the electrical industry.
The celebration, hosted at the newly opened IEC Atlanta & Georgia Training Center, provided an opportunity for scholarship recipients to connect with industry leaders, tour the state-of-the-art facility, and meet local contractors. The event underscored the organization’s commitment to building a robust, skilled workforce through the IEC apprenticeship program.
“This Signing Day is a pivotal moment for these students as they embark on their electrical journey with the IEC,” noted Marcus Benson, Workforce Development Coordinator. “It is inspiring to see the energy and commitment these future apprentices bring to the table as they prepare to take their careers to the next level.”
IEC Deputy Director Jeff Rogers was also on-site to offer his congratulations, emphasizing the long-term career potential awaiting the recipients in the electrical trade.
With 1,500 students enrolled across various programs, the momentum at the IEC Atlanta & Georgia Chapters continues to grow. Classes for the upcoming term begin August 17th, marking the start of a new chapter for these aspiring electricians as they pursue hands-on training, mentorship, and career placement support.
